Looking Through The Lasagna Lens – Layered Love Series Part Two
There’s a tenderness in the kitchen that mirrors the soul. Just as lasagna requires patience, layering, and gentle attention, so too does the heart require careful tending. In life, too often we approach our purpose with a hardened heart—stubborn, prideful, and resistant to the subtle nudges that steer us toward what truly matters. The Bible warns us of this very human tendency in Jeremiah 17:9 "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it? Remove the hardening of your heart, and return to me.” A hardened heart resists growth, love, and divine direction. It clings to arrogance, insisting on control, yet in that very grip, it misses the richness of life’s layered blessings. It is like overcooking the pasta sheets in lasagna—tough, brittle, and unable to fully absorb the sauce of purpose that flavors every layer of existence. Yielding your heart is not passive. It is an intentional act of humility. It is choosing to step back from your own stubbornness and allow God—or life’s gentle hand—to guide the layers of your calling. Each layer of lasagna—the delicate sheets, the creamy ricotta, the seasoned sauce—is a metaphor for the layers of our heart. When we press too hard or insist on our own ways, the layers won’t meld; the dish—and our purpose—remains incomplete. Through the Lasagna Lens, we can see that love, purpose, and growth require patience and surrender. The noodles of our hearts must soften, our arrogance must dissolve like melting cheese, and each layer of intention and action must align with the recipe of grace. Only then do the flavors harmonize, and our calling emerges as it was always meant to be—rich, nourishing, and fulfilling. Relinquishing stubbornness is not a one-time event; it is a practice. It is choosing each day to soften your heart, to knead humility into your actions, and to let purpose layer itself seamlessly into your life. As in lasagna, the transformation is slow, almost imperceptible—but the result is profound. So today, let The Lasagna Lens remind you:
