These days, the word “haters” gets thrown around like confetti. It’s kind of cute, honestly — like we’ve given a pet name to the people who just don’t vibe with us. But let’s be real: not everyone will like you. And you know what? That’s not your job to fix.
When someone dislikes you, it’s rarely about you. It’s usually a mirror — their discomfort with themselves reflecting outward. So instead of matching their energy or trying to decode their negativity, try something else: Respond with love. That doesn’t mean becoming a doormat. It means refusing to carry bitterness that doesn’t belong to you. It means choosing peace over pettiness. Because you don’t owe anyone your joy — but you do owe it to yourself to protect it. So, the next time someone tries to dim your light, put on what I call The Lasagna Lens. What’s that, you ask? It’s the practice of loving yourself in layers:
People who don’t love themselves will have a hard time loving you. That’s their journey. Yours is to keep loving yourself deeper — and stacking on those delicious layers of grace. So, love on you. Treat yourself. Bake joy into your days. And let anyone else’s opinion slide off you like sauce off a nonstick pan. Stay layered, stay loving, stay lasagna. Layered with Love, Sam The Lasagna Lady®
