Layered Love Series Part Two
Life, love, and lasagna all have something in common: they’re made in layers. Not every layer is perfect. Some are a little overcooked, some a bit under-seasoned, and some… oh, some are melted cheese miracles that hold everything together. But when you take a step back — or better yet, lean in — you realize that those layers, all messy and mingled, make something worth savoring. That’s what I call living through the Lasagna Lens. The Lasagna Lens: Seeing Love in Layers Too often, we chase "neat" love — the kind that's photo-ready, conflict-free, airbrushed at the edges. But real love, deep love, comes in layers. And not just romantic love. Family, friendship, self-love — all of it gets built layer by layer. And sometimes, instead of analyzing those layers or overcooking them with drama, you just have to dance in them. Like literally — cheese melting, sauce bubbling, oven heat kind of dance. Not because you're trying to fix it or figure it out. Just because it's there. And it’s yours. Dancing in the Lasagna Imagine stepping into those layers like they're puddles after a warm summer rain. You’re not tiptoeing, you're twirling — hands in the air, laughter in your chest, cheese on your socks (figuratively, hopefully). This isn’t about chaos. It’s about joy. It’s about loving the process -- Because some days, the most beautiful thing you can do is let go of the need to control the recipe and just move with it. When It Rains, It Bakes! Have you ever caught the scent of rain just before it hits the ground? That earthy, electric, oddly calming aroma? That’s petrichor — nature’s version of a deep breath. Lasagna has its own version. That smell when it’s just about to come out of the oven. When the top is golden, the bottom is bubbling, and everything in between is holding its breath, ready to be devoured. That’s the feeling we’re chasing when we look through The Lasagna Lens — the aroma of something complex coming together. Rain on pavement. Cheese on pasta. Love in motion. Savor the Layers You don't need to decode every emotion. You don’t need a map for every relationship. Sometimes, you just need a fork. Or maybe just a song. Because there are days when love won’t make sense. It will feel too heavy or too light, too hot or too cold. But if you look through The Lasagna Lens, you’ll remember that’s just part of the recipe. So... Next time life hands you something layered, messy, and slightly burnt at the edges — don’t analyze it to death. Turn on the music. Let the aroma rise. Take off your shoes. And dance in the lasagna Layers of Love, Sam The Lasagna Lady®
